Vestosaurus is Out

My daughter loves dinosaurs and asked me a long time ago to knit something for her with dinos on. Preferably the long-necked ones she instructed. She often get these kind of ideas, and expect that the finished knit is ready for her in about 5 minutes.
However, the idea of ​​knitted dinos stuck in my mind and slowly turned into a design: Vestosaurus

As soon as my son discovered that I was knitting a vest with long rows of dinos, he wanted one too, and it was a fun challenge to rethink the design from bright retro to a more traditional color scheme.

The vest is knit from the bottom up and is worked in the round to the arm holes. From the armholes up the vest is worked flat, so a small part of the colorwork is worked back and forth.The colorwork is charted.

Vestosaurus has ribbing around the armholes and neck as well as along the bottom.The vest has cute button closings at both shoulder seams allowing for even the largest kid head (one such sits on own my son’s shoulders).

Vestosaurus was designed in the following sizes

1 (2, 4, 6, 8, 10) years

With these measurements

Chest Circumfence: 20 (22, 24, 26, 28, 30) inches
Length: 11½ (13¾, 14¼, 16½, 18¾, 21) inches

The gauge is 

24 stitches per 4 inches in Dinosaur Pattern.

The yarn I used was

Rasmilla Yndlingsgarn (55% lambs wool, 45% cotton; 383 yards/350 meters per 50 g]
